The Elcometer Basic FNF Digital Inspection Kit (part number YKIT-DIGITALFNF-B) is a portable set of entry level digital gauges that covers the three principal inspection requirements in the protective and industrial coatings industry: climate, surface profile and dry film thickness. The FNF designation means the coating thickness gauge measures on both ferrous and non-ferrous substrates, so the same case can be used whether the coating sits on steel or on aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. Checking these parameters matters because coatings applied in the wrong climatic conditions, over an unsuitable profile, or at the wrong film thickness are the common causes of premature coating failure.

The Elcometer Basic FNF Digital Inspection Kit contains an Elcometer 224 Model B integral digital surface profile gauge with a 0 to 500 micron scale range, an Elcometer 319 standard dewpoint meter, and an Elcometer 456 Model B ferrous and non-ferrous separate coating thickness gauge with a standard separate probe over a 0 to 1500 micron scale range. The surface profile gauge takes 60 or more readings per minute and the thickness gauge 70 or more readings per minute.

Both gauges of the Elcometer Basic FNF Digital Inspection Kit are impact, water and dust resistant equivalent to IP64, with an automatic rotating display at 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees, on-screen statistics, multiple calibration methods, and user definable audible and visual pass or fail warnings. Each holds a rolling memory of up to 10 readings, and gauge software updates are delivered via ElcoMaster 2.0 software.
