Quality control has been the family business since 1946.
BAMR is a third-generation family business that supplies, repairs, services and calibrates quality-control instrumentation for the coatings, corrosion and physical paint-testing industries - and the sole official authorised Elcometer distributor in South Africa and most of Africa.
Three generations, one standard.
Fred Duk started the company on 22 May 1946. The name is an abbreviation of British Allied Manufacturers Representatives - originally British American Manufacturers Representatives - but everyone has always known us simply as BAMR. In 1961, on Fred's passing, his youngest son Frank took over and worked at BAMR for 47 years. Graham, the eldest of three sons, joined in 1998 and runs the company today with a small, dedicated staff.
We have been the suppliers and distributors of Elcometer instruments since 1947 - the first export sale Elcometer ever made was through BAMR. Like us, Elcometer is a third-generation family business, and we share the same philosophy on innovation and customer service. We combine quality products at competitive prices with the personalised, knowledgeable service that eight decades in the industry have taught us to give.
Three generations of BAMR.
