About this product

The Fibrescope Internal Inspection Tool, also sold as an Internal Bore Viewer and known variously as a low cost endoscope, fiberscope, interscope or scope, is a handheld optical instrument for looking inside spaces that cannot be opened up or seen into directly. It is used to diagnose maintenance and repair problems, for example checking for blocked pipes and vents, or inspecting a heat exchanger, without dismantling the equipment.

The problem it solves is access. Faults inside bores, tubes and enclosed assemblies are normally hidden, and reaching them means stripping the equipment down. The fibrescope's flexible shaft adjusts into almost any position and feeds in through a small opening, so damaged or blocked areas can be found quickly and parts checked in place. A high powered lens focuses clearly on objects as close as 19mm, and a halogen lamp (600 fc, 3220 K) lights up dark interiors at the push of a button. An optional clip-on 45 degree mirror extends the view around corners.

The instrument carries 6,000 pixels with a 40 degree field of view and a 10mm shaft tip diameter, and operates and stores between -23 and +49 degrees C. It runs on two AA batteries. The comfort grip handle allows one-hand operation with the view controls and an integrated focus ring at the fingertips, and measures 152 x 36 x 62mm. The high impact ABS housing is built for field use, and the sealed lens and shaft can be immersed in liquids. The BAM-1 weighs approximately 318g and the BAM-2 approximately 227g.

Used across maintenance, inspection and repair work. Supplied by BAMR, South Africa's distributor of inspection instruments.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum focus distance on the fibrescope?

The minimum focus distance is 19 mm. This enables inspection of tightly constrained internal geometries where probe positioning would be limited.

What temperature range is the fibrescope rated for?

The fibrescope operates and stores between minus 23 and plus 49 degrees Celsius, accommodating both cold outdoor sites and warm industrial workshop environments.

Can the 10 mm shaft access typical inspection bores?

The shaft tip diameter is 10 mm. Confirm this dimension fits your specific bore or cavity access requirements before deploying the tool.

What battery type powers the fibrescope?

Two AA batteries power the tool, providing portability without mains electricity. This battery type is widely available at most service locations.

What illumination is provided for internal viewing?
