The MontiPower MBX Electric is a mains-powered bristle blaster that removes rust, corrosion, oxidation, adhesives, gaskets, layers of paint, undercoating, sealers and vinyl in one step, and also dresses weld seams. The MontiPower MBX Electric prepares a surface for recoating without the abrasive media, dust and containment demands of conventional grit blasting.
Coating and repair failures usually trace back to contamination or a poorly profiled substrate. The MontiPower MBX Electric removes coatings and scale while leaving the underlying material intact, so there is no grinding away of substrate. The flexible-wire belts rotate in a patented housing, spinning outward under centrifugal force and working on a cushion of air. The U-shaped staple bristles are set into a durable nylon belt and have a positive rake angle, striking the surface and rebounding in a chiselling action that lifts surface coatings and scale but not the base metal. The result is an even, angular profile with no clogging or gumming of the bristles, even on uneven surfaces and in tight areas.
The MontiPower MBX Electric runs on 230 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz with a 700 W output and an idle speed of 3,200 rpm. The MontiPower MBX Electric measures 370 mm long, 180 mm high including the handle and 100 mm wide, weighs 2.2 kg and uses a belt of 100 mm outer diameter. Vibration is 0.79 m/sec2 and the sound level is 83 dB(A).
